I am a user experience practitioner trained at the Virtual Reality Applications Center, a technology research institute at Iowa State University. During my time at the VRAC, I designed, developed, and researched solutions for usability challenges on both traditional platforms and mixed reality technologies like virtual reality and augmented reality. These days, I work in the research center for a multinational corporation, where I put my HCI degree to use – applying a user-centered design process to solve novel challenges in the aerospace and building systems industries.  My day-to-day responsibilities can vary depending on the needs of the project: depending on the project, I’ll work as a programmer, interaction designer, design researcher, or graphic designer / visual artist.  I have a lot of fun!
